What is Buy Now, Pay Later?

Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) has taken online purchasing by storm. Gen Z and Millennials alike have found this tool to be especially helpful in the new age of online banking. Unlike traditional forms of payment, which force consumers to make purchases upfront and in full, Buy Now, Pay Later provides buyers with the option to pay for purchases in payment installments without any fees.

Affirm Overview!

There are many online platforms that provide BNPL services. If you’ve done any online shopping recently, you’ve probably seen this option pop up when checking out. One of the leading BNPL platforms, Affirm, allows you to make the choice on how you’d like to pay. Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Go Shopping

Work with a team member at Ambrosia to receive a quote for full event planning, day-of coordination, event design, floral designs, decor, rentals, or more.

Step 2: Choose Your Payment Terms

After signing a contract with Ambrosia, you can choose the payment method that works best for you. At checkout, choose Buy Now, Pay Later with Affirm and set your payment terms. From 4 interest-free payments every two weeks to monthly installments, you’re in control.

Step 3: Make Your Payments

You will manage your payments directly through Affirm, on their app or online. You can choose to set up AutoPay through Affirm so you don’t miss a payment. But even if you do, there are never any fees.

What makes this different from a credit card?

Unlike traditional credit cards, BNPL has no hidden fees or credit limits. With the Pay in 4 option, there is no interest or fees. Additionally, this payment method does not impact your credit score. The Monthly Payment option can have an impact on your credit score, but does not have any hidden fees and does not affect the credit limit associated with your credit card. Customers who are trying to make large purchases, often seen in the event industry, may struggle with credit limits, withdrawal limits, and banking restrictions. The BNPL system solves this pain point for consumers and allows them to have the event of their dreams without having the money upfront.
